Ingredients
2 cups of chana dal
Chopped spinach leaves
2 table spoon onion paste
2 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon chilli powder
Cut potatoes
1 big size tomato cut into small pieces
Salt to taste
4 tablespoon oil
3-4cups of water
For tadka (tempering)
1 teaspoon whole cumin seeds
½ teaspoon mustard seeds
Whole dry red chilli
5-6 curry leaves (optional)
Method
- Soak chana dal for 4-5 hours
- Take pressure cooker heat oil in it. Now add onion paste sauté it nicely
- Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder. Sauté it well till it leaves oil.
- Once the masala is done add chopped spinach, chopped tomatoes, cut potatoes, soaked chana dal and salt to taste.
- Sauté it for 5-10min.
- Now add water.
- Cover the lid. After 4-5 whistles open d lid and pour it in a container.
- Now for tadka, heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds mustard seeds dry chilli and curry leaves and sauté it.
- Now add the cooked dal in it.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with chapatti or paranthas.
